In one of the workshops rented by the private company Lesmash Corporation, welding work was being carried out to manufacture a large water tank. During the leak test of this device, the structure could not withstand the high pressure supplied. A strong explosion occurred, which tore out part of the steel from one of the walls of the tank.
Under the impact, two men died on the spot, and four more were injured. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on violation of safety rules during construction work, which led to an accidental death. As a result, the head of the assembly shop of Lesmash Corporation LLC was detained. The head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, will hear a report on the progress of the investigation. In addition, the prosecutor's office is conducting an inspection of compliance with labor protection and industrial safety standards.
