The version given by a 20-year-old man on January 4 to the Colimes Police allowed us to reconstruct how the gruesome murder of Ignacio Santiago Rivas Murillo occurred inside his upstairs home, located in the San Andrés area, 40 minutes from the town of Colimes canton, Guayas province.
Rivas, 34, was at his farm in the aforementioned area, on the Colimes - Olmedo road , on Friday, January 3 at 5:30 p.m. Four men armed with rifles, aboard a double-cab pickup truck, entered the property. After neutralizing the guard and forcing him to lie down on the floor of the house, they fired more than five shots at Rivas, who was left face down and lifeless in the living room of his modest country house.
