The year 2025 began with yet another tragedy on the BR-116. The number of deaths in the serious accident that occurred on Friday morning (3), in the Cândido Sales section, near the border with Minas Gerais, rose to five. All the fatal victims were from the same family and were in the passenger car that collided with a truck. According to information gathered by Blog do Rodrigo Ferraz , there was a child among the dead, which increases the commotion even more. The impact of the collision was so violent that the passenger vehicle was completely destroyed, and none of the people on board survived.
