The explosion occurred near the Shaaban Gas Filling Company, sending thick clouds of black smoke into the sky over the town. The cause of the incident is still unknown. According to eyewitnesses, the sound of the explosion resounded throughout the area, causing panic among residents.
Initial information indicated that a number of people were injured, some of whom were in critical condition, while local sources confirmed the death of a mother and her three children as a result of the accident, as their bodies were found charred as a result of the fire that broke out.
