The victim, identified as Hugo Javier Talavera, 48, was performing repair work on a large truck while also checking on a pickup truck located in front of the vehicle. At one point, what appeared to be a cable holding the truck's cab came loose, causing the heavy structure to violently collapse.
Fortunately, the impact was cushioned by the hood of the truck, which prevented a worse tragedy. Even so, Talavera suffered injuries and a broken foot, so his employer transported him to a medical center in Brazil, where he will undergo surgery.
