A regrettable workplace accident shocked the community of Playa del Carmen on Saturday morning, when an employee of the Solidaridad City Council lost his life after being electrocuted while carrying out maintenance work on the public road.
It is known that the events occurred on Constituyentes Avenue, when the man was performing cleaning work on the central median strip. Unfortunately, when crossing the median strip, the worker fell on some exposed high-tension cables, receiving an electric shock that caused his instant death.
